Emanuel Ax, Leonidas Kavakos, and Yo-Yo Ma's fifth Beethoven for Three release features Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” (Op. 55) and the Leonore Overture No. 3 (Op. 72b). Joined by violist Antoine Tamestit for both pieces, the group performs these landmark compositions in new arrangements for piano quartet by Shai Wosner. Written within a few years of each other, Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” and the Leonore Overture No. 3 are a triumphant beginning to Beethoven’s “middle period,” exploring heroism and nobility of spirit and — in the case of the “Eroica” — reinventing the symphonic form for the Romantic era. Beethoven for Three: Symphony No. 3 “Eroica" and Leonore Overture No. 3 is scheduled for digital release on August 28th, 2026, with a CD preorder available on August 14th, 2026.
