Pre-Order: Ross Valory - All of the Above [LP]
Vinyl LP pressing. The long-awaited debut solo album by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame bass player Ross Valory is a culmination of over fifty years of creativity. While best known for his massive career with Journey, Valory proves he is much more than just a bass player on this project. For this solo venture, Valory developed a repertory company of stellar musicians, including: Prairie Prince (Journey, The Tubes) Karl Perazzo (Santana) Marc Russo (Doobie Brothers, Yellowjackets) Eric Levy (Night Ranger) Jacob Stowe (Engineer) The album, titled ""All of the Above,"" explores a far broader instrumental territory than Valory's work with Journey, leaning into Jazz/Fusion, he showcases his versatility by playing keyboards and guitar in addition to his signature bass across a diverse musical palette. A Multi-Sensory Experience, the 10-track album features a wide range of styles, from the Latin-fired intensity of ""Wild Kingdom"" and the romantic ""No One Wins a War"" to a partying homage to War on ""Low Rider"" and a brilliant reprise of Santana's ""Incident at Neshabur."" Adding a visual dimension to the music, every title on the album has by a video directed and co-created by Michael Cotten and Ross. ""All of the Above"" is described by Valory as a true labor of love that honors his extensive experience while pointing toward his musical future. As Ross himself suggests for the best listening experience: ""Turn off your phone, wind up the cat, throw out the clock, close your eyes, and listen to the entire album.""
