With Solstice, guitarist Adam Cicchillitti and bandoneonist Denis Plante, accompanied by the Montreal Classical Orchestra under the direction of Jean-Marie Zeitouni, present a unique project: placing the guitar and bandoneon at the heart of the symphony orchestra as fully integrated solo voices.Conceived as a point of balance, mirroring the solstice, the album explores the meeting of musical traditions from the North and the South. It creates a dialogue between the great works of Latin America and contemporary Canadian creation, within a universe nourished by dance rhythms, popular influences, and classical heritage.
