Twenty years after Define The Great Line debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, Underoath’s 2006 album gets a second colorway at independent record stores: an indie exclusive jade vinyl pressing out October 30. You can pre-order Underoath Define The Great Line on jade vinyl now at The Vinyl Groove, Cleveland’s friendly record store.

Following 2004’s They’re Only Chasing Safety, the band leaned into a heavier and edgier sound just as much of heavy music was drifting toward pop. The album runs against the grain from the first track to the last, which is a big reason fans keep coming back to it two decades later.

Writing On The Walls is the one to press play on first, and its video is one of the band’s most-watched. From there, move on to In Regards To Myself, which opens the album, and You’re Ever So Inviting.

The band is celebrating with the Define The Great Line Twentieth Anniversary Tour, which opens November 5 in St. Louis, less than a week after the jade pressing is out. Midwest stops include Chicago on November 24 at the Aragon Ballroom, Grand Rapids on November 25 at 20 Monroe, Cincinnati on December 4 at The Andrew J Brady Music Center, Indianapolis on December 5 at the Egyptian Room and Detroit on December 6 at The Fillmore Detroit. Check the full list of tour dates for the rest of the route.

The brown vinyl pressing from August 28 is still available here, and collectors who like to match colorways can grab both. The jade is the indie exclusive, priced at $34.99 to pre-order so your copy is set aside for release day. With Rocktober in full swing, it belongs in your stack next to the rest of the month’s heavy hitters.

Stop by The Vinyl Groove at 5100 Pearl Rd in Old Brooklyn to hear what else is spinning, or pre-order the jade vinyl here.
