Record Store Day Black Friday at The Vinyl Groove: Limited Edition Vinyl and Cleveland Music Culture

Where music transcends everything

Record Store Day has a way of grounding people. You wake up early. You grab a warm beverage. You stand in line with strangers who somehow feel familiar. The whole thing becomes a small tradition you look forward to each year. It brings you back to the simple truth of why you love music in the first place.

Why Record Store Day Feels Different

There is something special about walking into a record store when everyone is there for the same reason. People flip through the bins, point things out and talk about what they have been listening to lately. There is excitement around the limited edition vinyl drops. You never know exactly what you will find, which is half the fun.

It is easy to lose that "in-good-company" feeling, especially during the holidays when everything moves fast. Record Store Day brings it back.

What’s Happening on Black Friday

Friday, November 28

While not as big as Record Store Day in April, it grows stronger every year.

Doors open at 10 AM. Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will be here at 9 AM for early arrivals. DJ Fuse will keep the line moving from 10 to 12:30 PM, and we will have local, live entertainment in the shop throughout the afternoon.

Want up to $10 off your purchase? We are collecting canned goods for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Each item earns $1 off your purchase and must meet donation guidelines* (up to $10 off with a minimum $20 merchandise purchase).

Anyone who donates a qualifying item will receive one raffle ticket per person for our weekend drawing. Prizes include:

An autographed MGK Lost Americana poster

A Ghost limited edition wooden labyrinth maze game

Additional surprises announced in the shop

Plus, our friends at AEG Presents and the Grog Shop have provided goodies for us to hand out throughout the weekend.

Small Business Saturday

Saturday, November 29

Another strong day to keep it local and spend time in Old Brooklyn. The shop stays lively with people browsing, recommending albums and talking about recent shows. We will have local, live entertainment throughout the day to keep things moving and give you a reason to linger a little longer.

No rush. No pressure. Just people who like music doing what they do.

Supporting the Cleveland Food Bank

From November 28 through December 21, we are collecting nonperishable food items for the Cleveland Food Bank. Each item earns $1 off your purchase (up to $10 off, minimum $20 merchandise purchase).

It is simple. Bring something, help a local family and save on your records. Music brings people in, and this gives all of us a chance to support the community we are part of.

Weekend Raffle

If you donate a qualifying item to the Food Bank, you receive one raffle ticket per person for the weekend drawing. Winners will be pulled after the event window closes, with prizes including the MGK poster, Ghost maze and more.

See You at The Vinyl Groove

Come by. Look around. Pick something that speaks to you. This is where music transcends everything.

*Donation guidelines: The Cleveland Food Bank cannot accept food that is opened, expired or not in its original packaging with nutritional information.
