Record Store Day Black Friday 2026 in Cleveland: The Picks We're Excited For

The Record Store Day Black Friday 2026 list landed on October 6 and it runs deep, with more than 200 special releases arriving at independent record stores across the US on Friday, November 27. If you have been searching for record stores near you in Cleveland to plan your haul, this is the guide to start with.

A heads up before you start your list

The Vinyl Groove Records may not have every title in stock. Each indie shop makes its own buying decisions and allotments are not known until the boxes ship, so the pressing quantities listed by RSD reflect the total made for the entire US and get split across every participating store. A rare title on the list is rare everywhere, which means some releases may sell out before you reach the counter and a few may never land in the bins at all. Release dates can also shift as the official list updates, so treat everything below as a guide to what exists and what to hunt for at independent shops near you, with a few backups lined up for every headline pick.

How the list works

Each title carries a letter. E marks an exclusive release found only at indie record stores. L marks a limited run or regional focus release, usually pressed in small numbers that can be harder to find. F marks an RSD First release, which shows up at indie shops before it may reach other retailers down the road. None of these are sold on the RSD website, so the way to get them is to walk into a physical record store.

RSD Black Friday also runs separately from the spring Record Store Day event, built around the holiday shopping season and the idea that a record from an independent shop makes a pretty great gift for someone you like (yourself included).

Picks for the funk and soul crowd

Live at Meadowbrook 1971

Funkadelic Live at Meadowbrook 1971 arrives as a 2xLP on ORG Music, the same label behind the Maggot Brain Midwest Exclusive that sold out across 25 independent shops this September, so anyone who chased that pressing has a natural next stop. The Brides of Funkenstein Funk or Walk on Rhino keeps the P-Funk family tree growing, Bobby Womack The Preacher in Paris on Elemental Music brings a live soul set and Bill Withers In Concert: Live at the BBC, 1974 comes on both LP and CD.

Picks for the legends and live recordings crowd

3121 Las Vegas Live

Prince 3121 Las Vegas Live arrives as a 3xLP set with a 2xCD option for anyone who wants the full Vegas run in one package. Grateful Dead fans get two shots at the crates with Carousel Ballroom, San Francisco, 2/14/68 as a 4xLP set and On A Back Porch Vol. 4 on single LP, both on Rhino. Fleetwood Mac devotees can pair Stevie Nicks Bella Donna with Lindsey Buckingham Under The Skin, both exclusive pressings on Rhino. Joni Mitchell Live at Carnegie Hall 1972 lands as a 2xLP and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band bring Live at Tower Theater Philly 1975 in a 4xLP set.

Picks for fans of today's songwriters and pop

Draw You Out

Noah Kahan has two releases on the list, with Draw You Out on 7" and The Last of the Bugs on 12" EP. Carly Rae Jepsen brings Day and Night (Continued) as a 12" EP, sombr has in another life on 12" EP and Benson Boone adds Walk Me Home... on LP, which gives the younger crowd plenty to flip through alongside the classics.

Picks for the punk and heavy crowd

Eat Your Paisley! (40th Anniversary)

The Ramones Subterranean Jungle Demos is an exclusive LP on Rhino and The Dead Milkmen Eat Your Paisley! returns for its 40th anniversary as an RSD First release. Power Trip Precinct 3 comes as a 7" single, Good Charlotte Greetings From California arrives as a 2xLP and Black Veil Brides drop a Black EP on 12". Heavier ears also have Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast as a collectible Eddie figure and Motorhead The Lost Tapes Vol. 8: Live at Margate on 2xLP.

Picks for jazz heads and soundtrack hunters

Miles Davis Copenhagen Live 1969 and Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers Blue Moon Over Paris both come as 2xLP sets, and Stan Getz fans get a 3xLP from Keystone Korner. For the pop culture shelf, the Wicked: The Complete Soundtrack 4xLP is on the list, and Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas returns in an advent calendar edition for anyone shopping early for the holidays.

How to plan your Black Friday haul

Pick your top five and write down a backup for each, since exclusives sell fast and the first people through the door tend to clear the headline titles. Browse the full list on the official Record Store Day site, then check our socials for doors-open time and line details. RSD Black Friday titles are first come, first served with no holds and no preorders. The list is still marked version 0.09 and will keep changing, so give it another look in the weeks before the 27th.

The Vinyl Groove Records sits at 5100 Pearl Rd Suite 208 in Old Brooklyn, a short drive from anywhere in Cleveland, and the crates are stocked by people who live for this stuff. Follow along on Instagram for store updates and drop in with questions about any title on your wish list.
