Philip Guy, hailing from Louisiana, was always known to bring a distinct flavour to his music - though not the laid-back R&B characteristic of his home state. Having spent considerable time in Chicago, particularly entrenched in it's blues scene (first as the second guitarist in his brother Buddy's band and later as the frontman of his own ensemble "The Blue Machine"), Phil's music sides more with the gritty essence of the Windy City's noble blues traditions.
