Prospect Hummer was recorded by the band's friend Rusty Santos (co-producer of 2004's Sung Tongs) and originally released in May 2005. All four band members - Avey Tare, Deakin, Geologist, and Panda Bear - feature on this release. Pressed on red and yellow starburst vinyl.

Deluxe edition of their album 20/20 Vision featuring new artwork and 5 new songs. Anti-Flag is a political punk band, which is obvious from their name alone. But over the course of 12 albums across more than 25 years together, they’ve rarely set their sights on singular individuals in songs. Unlike their punk predecessors in the 80s, who made targets of Reagan and his cronies, Anti-Flag has always opted not to date their work with current references, instead focusing on fighting ongoing oppression and dismantling deeply rooted systems of injustice. But on their new album, 20/20 Vision, the band drew a big, fat line in the sand.

The music of Brainiac ended with the death of frontman Tim Taylor in 1997. Offered here is a glimpse into the working mind of Taylor as he susses out tunes and sound experiments in their rawest form, mostly alone with a four track in his mother's attic. Some are mere sketches. Many never again saw the light of day, or morphed so much they are more like distant cousins of future songs. Some of the more interesting Brainiac songs, like Fucking With The Altimeter, Silver Iodine, or Strung, were elevated from the original four and eight track demos later in the studio environment. Attic Tapes serves as a blueprint for how these types of tunes developed. The entire program is stitched together like a distorted dream. Jumping from one scene to the next, it progresses through all four sides in a historically linear fashion, from the very early days through to the final rehearsals.
While this is not an official Brainiac album, it begins to feel akin to what a Brainiac record might sound like if it were produced by neighbor and Guided by Voices raconteur Robert Pollard. Inside the release are some historically related liner notes written by guitarist John Schmersal giving further insight into the origins and backdrop of the demos and the time they were created.

Two of Louisiana’s most well-known and respected artists, Boosie Badazz and C-Murder, combined forces to deliver a one-of-a-kind release with Penitentiary Chances. The project is a strong reading from the streets with Boosie and C-Murder telling real-life street stories as only they can. Both had always wanted to work together, and being incarcerated in Angola they had time to put their heads together and come up with the project. This double clear vinyl release marks the first time Penitentiary Chances is pressed on vinyl.

The Deluxe Edition for Village of the Damned presents the full score as heard in the film for the first time, a far more complete presentation then the 1995 Original Soundtrack which was not only truncated, but made of an entirely separate mix that wasn’t featured in the film. The set does however include the track, “Midwich Shuffle,” a fun number which was created specifically for the 1995 soundtrack despite never actually appearing in the film. Interest in John Carpenter's original film scores has never been higher, and his collaboration with Dave Davies of the Kinks is a one of a kind moment in cinematic music history. The album includes an all new original art direction with new notes and classic film stills and comes pressed on Orange Haze vinyl.

At The Village Gate is a live album by jazz guitarist Larry Coryell, the “Godfather of Fusion”, recorded on January 21 and 22, 1971 at the Village Gate in New York City. It was released by Vanguard Records. Sadly, far too few people knew of this album at the time as its distribution was limited, but it’s a record that was recorded so well it could easily be considered a live studio release, and one that never fails to open eyes or expand horizons. It’s interesting to note that Larry’s wife Julie sings for the first time on this outing and that’s his son featured on the album jacket.

Sounds unmusical but it isn't that either--the singing is clever and impassioned, the punkish, futuristic reggae-synthesizer fusion often catchy and always apt.' - Robert Christgau

The second of this series comes from Ella Fitzgerald. This 12" Single LP features live versions of Mack the Knife and Summertime from the legendary 1960 Berlin performance, with the 1962 “Lost Berlin Tapes” versions “hidden” on the neighboring grooves.

The Soft Bulletin is one of the Flaming Lips’ most popular and best-selling albums. The Soft Bulletin Companion was originally available as a promo-only CD, hand-made by the Lips’ management, and given to media and radio as the original album grew in popularity around its original release. The compilation includes unreleased songs from the era, plus outtakes and early mixes, B-sides, international bonus tracks and stereo versions of Zaireeka tracks. This silver-colored, double LP comes to record stores first as part of RSD Drops.
When Jeffrey Dean Foster watched the Black Lives Matter protests following George Floyd’s murder last summer, he wanted to address the cruelty that prompted them. The result was “I’m Starting to Bleed,” a pastiche of late-period Bowie and “Cruisin’”-era Smokey Robinson infused with a creeping sense of dread. The remixed, reimagined “I’m Starting to Bleed (Pastoral)” strips the song back to its studs, trading the original instrumentation for guitars orchestrated by 1970s Film Stock. “When Was the Last Time” was recorded as a bare-bones acoustic performance at The Ramkat in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Don Dixon suggested making a record out of it, noting that Johnny Cash magicked some of his TV appearances into album tracks. Dixon and Foster’s additions of drums, bass, electric guitar and strings, Beth McKee’s Wurlitzer, and Marti Jones’ pristine backing vocals turned it into a panoramic pop song. “Tell Somebody” is a wall of sound full of sonic nods to The Who, Big Star, and Teenage Fanclub at their Bandwagonesque best. “Headin’ Home” is a tossed-off ode to pandemic isolation, like the Flamin’ Groovies reluctantly following a stay-at-home-order. Dixon and Mitch Easter pulled the mixes together, while Dave McNair (Bowie, Dylan, Patti Smith) mastered the record. The I’m Starting to Bleed EP probably couldn’t have been made outside of the disorienting cauldron of the past year. Foster is currently working on his next full-length album.
Proceeds from this release, and three others in this series support The Shalom Project (an organization that supports NC families in need).
This is a regional release and though it’s available to all RSD-participating stores, it will primarily be available at stores in North Carolina.

Another grunge metal classic! Gruntruck's bloodlines were impeccable; the band was founded (where else?) in Seattle by two members of the pioneering grunge band Skin Yard, vocalist Ben McMillan and drummer Norman Scott. While in Skin Yard, Scott also briefly joined Soundgarden, and collaborated with Chris Cornell on a lesser-known band, the low frequency power trio Bass Truck. Lead guitarist Tommy Niemeyer from metal thrashers The Accüsed and bassist Tim Paul, previously of PDX hardcore punks Final Warning, rounded out the initial, classic line-up, which is what you hear on this 1992 record, which was produced by the band and fellow ex-Skin Yard member (and go-to grunge producer) Jack Endino. Previously released on vinyl only in Europe and Brazil (!), original copies of Push are virtually impossible to find, which is too bad; this record offered a mesmerizing mix of atonal riffage and hooky tunes like the single "Tribe." This is its first-ever domestic vinyl release, and we're giving it a real "Push"; we've added two never-on-LP tracks ("Crucifunkin'" and "Flesh Fever") that the band recorded in between the sessions for Push and their first album, Inside Yours, and expanded the release to a killer 2-LP set (sequenced by Jack Endino himself) housed inside a gatefold jacket. INTEGRITY thought it only fitting to dedicate a release to the denim-and-leather-clad Lemmy and co. by recording two classic Motorhead bangers. Released for the first time on limited Blue and Black vinyl for RSD Drops 2021. Motorhead For Life!

Originally released in 2003, Here Comes That Weird Chill (Methamphetamine Blues, Extras & Oddities) was a precursor to Mark's stunning album Bubblegum. Conceived as a single from that album, Here Comes That Weird Chill... was expanded to an eight track EP with the inclusion of outtakes from the album sessions - hence, 'Extras and Oddities'. This RSD Drops edition is pink vinyl, pressed onto a 12” (previously released as a 10”).

Heavy Sun, the soulful, debut from Daniel Lanois and his invigorating new all-star band. Recorded in Los Angeles and Toronto, the album fuses classic gospel and modern electronics, mixing gritty, human textures with crisp, digital accents and lush, swirling atmospherics to create a sound that's at once warmly familiar and boldly unexpected. The arrangements here are spacious and dreamy, anchored by rich, righteous organ topped with airy falsetto and mesmerizing four-part harmony, and the writing is buoyant and soulful to match, tapping into the shared uncertainty of the human condition to offer hope, comfort, and connection at a time when all three run in desperately short supply. For RSD Drops this year comes the vinyl debut of this critically acclaimed album. Pressed on Translucent Ruby inside Opaque Orchid colored vinyl, and limited to a worldwide run of 4000. Includes a download card.

The second and last album from Richard Butler's post-Psychedelic Furs project arguably was as good as anything his first band put out…this 1997 release sported the Furs' arty blend of post-punk and glam embroidered with some well-placed electronica and alternative touches. Best of all--it rocks! And Butler's distinctive vocals have never sounded better in all their snarling tenderness. Never before on LP, our reissue comes in a jacket with printed inner sleeve containing white with black swirl vinyl that matches the album cover.
